Meet the Founder
BRAW Skin is made in small batches, on the edge of the Firth of Clyde by me, Heather Hart.
I started BRAW because of my own struggle with naturally dry, sensitive, compromised skin and a long history of trying countless products that either irritated my skin or weren’t doing the job.
I learned that many products I was using were either mostly water with minimal actives or overloaded with too many strong actives - neither of which serve sensitive, stressed skin, or skin weathering different seasons of change.
Frustrated by stinging, irritation and flare-ups, I began formulating simple, plant‑based blends that soothe rather than aggravate. BRAW grew from that need: stripped‑back, effective skincaredesigned to nourish and protect fragile skin.
The Future of BRAW Skin
I'm a mum of two, building a life to create more space to be present for my family and serving my community.
It’s important to me to build a brand that serves a purpose to people and to one day be a stockist to all our beautiful Scottish guest houses, hotels, Inns, Airbnb’s to rid the industry of single use plastic amenities and provide proper decent products without the harsh surfactants and synthetics to keep Scotland looking BRAW.
Heritage
Scotland's heritage, history and folklore is full of brave and powerful women. Our wise women and healers understood plants and root systems. They made poultices and tinctures - tended the sick, and passed their knowledge down by word of mouth rather than by textbook. I plan to keep our beautiful heritage alive through my products, storytelling, and sharing knowledge from my table to yours to keep your families’ skin health well.
